Kopin Crafts world’s smallest VGA microdisplay, 2K * 2K postage stamps up next
To those who boast that your mobile phone has the best display at a small space, here comes the Kopin’s smallest VGA color-filter LCD. This new invention has the capability to pack a 600*480 resolution into a very small place of size 0.27 inch.
The company said to the media that this fea was accomplished by contracting the color dots to 2.9*8.7 micrometer from 3.75*11.25 micrometer. The company is not satisfied still and it planning to develop a still clear display in much smaller space. Its next goal is reaching the 2K*2K resolution in a size that is smaller than a typical postal stamp.
Earlier Kopin Corporation has stated that it can concoct SVGA displays at 0.34 inches XGA displays at 0.44 inches and SXGA displays at 0.56 inch using the same size of the color dots which can be used in all the modern digicams and camcorders.
