This new feature will be named as the “Verified Accounts” and the feature will test the originality of the person and will prevent impersonation. They verified accounts will hold a special seal that will confirm that they belong to the person who claims the profile.
Earlier there have been an increasing number of complaints that fake tweets are being sent and once such lawsuit was raised by St. Louis Cardinal’s manager Tony La Russa. Russa had filed a lawsuit stating that these fake tweets have given him mental stress and also added that they were “disparaging and disgracing”.
