In 2001 Japanese electronics company Sony were a true giant of global capitalism. Their successes in the areas of television, stereos and, famously, computer games; their Playstation and Playstation 2 consoles were already massive global successes.

But one area in which they had very little success is the area of mobile phone production. Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson was, at the time, the third largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world but had fallen on hard times. Design: It is a sleek and smart touch screen phone with nice glossy finish and very nice material used. It is a bit edgy from the corners and does look like a small tablet. However the Home button at the bottom is very cool as it blinks in different colors before the in coming call or an alert. Overall design is same as other prevailing phones in US market.
