Blackberry Storm 2 – An improvement on the original ?
Blackberry, by launching the original Blackberry Storm were attempting to break out of their conventional model and tried to launch an innovative touch screen phone to rival the iPhone. Despite their intentions the phone was considered to be an epic fail.
So, baring this in mind they went back to the drawing board to some extent and have now launched the Storm 2. Although it still looks the same, it has received great reviews and Blackberry can proudly say that any problems with the previous model have well and truly been fixed with this model. They now have a phone with the potential to rival the other greats out there.
Design
The Blackberry Storm 2 is very different to all other conventional Blackberry phones, being the second of its kind that they have ever produced. The phone has a large 3.25 inch screen which is fully touch compatible. The Storm 2 uses next generation SurePress technology which still encompasses the QWERTY keypad, allowing for ease of usage especially when it is used mainly for e-mails and so on. The Blackberry Storm 2 has a high resolution 480×360 screen which displays over 65,000 colors over a large screen, which enhances practically every function of the phone.
Features
Impressive doesn’t even begin to describe the features which the Blackberry Storm 2 has! Not only is the large high resolution screen a plus, it also has next-gen SmartPress technology which is different to any other touch screen, which also includes a QWERTY system, which again is rare to find on touch screen phones. The Blackberry Storm 2 has a very powerful battery which diminishes one of the problems with most touch screen phones that battery life tends to be very poor. It offers one of the fastest network connections yet on a Blackberry. Also it has a brilliant 3.2mp camera with auto-focus and auto-flash allowing for excellent pictures to be taken at any time of day.
Specifications

The Blackberry Storm 2 shares the same system as all other Blackberrys. It has 256mb of integrated memory and the opportunity to add more if you wish. It allows for remarkable applications to be downloaded onto the phone to suit the users needs, and also has corporate data access. As well as this, the battery life is excellent for a touch screen phone, with standby being 356 hours, and talk time being 6 hours it certainly does the job. There are also ‘convenience’ keys at the bottom of the phone to enable the user to go through the phone easily. The Blackberry Storm 2 also has a 3.5mm audio jack. Also the phone can be connected to Wi-Fi and also has Bluetooth.
Affordability
Touch screen phones seem to be gaining popularity and the Blackberry Storm 2 is a perfect alternative to the iPhone especially when you consider that it is cheap for a smartphone, but even more so compared to the iPhone. So if you are looking for a touch screen smartphone that is affordable this is definitely the best contender.
